How can one make the joy of life visible while there are no people and there are scarce items in the space? Werner Pawlok succeeded. He killed the devastated Havana homes and “captured” the morbid charm of the Caribbean city, as well as the sense of Havanans’ vitality. The glory and the traces of decay have been captured at every artist’s click. The villas of the old aristocracy show the beauty of the capital of Cuba and leave the viewer a bittersweet taste. A world left in its own decadence. Pawlok brings the viewer in front of that time of the old city, where luxury is felt only as a remnant of the past.
