2024 marks 60 years since Sean Connery’s Bond took on Gert Fröbe’s Goldfinger in one of the most stylish spy films to date. To celebrate this iconic cinematic milestone, Crockett & Jones, the official partner and provider of footwear to 007 – and a brand as synonymous with Britishness as Bond – has created an exclusive limited-edition collection comprising two new shoe styles.
First up is the Highbury 2, a reincarnation of the original Crockett & Jones shoe worn in several of the James Bond films, including Skyfall, Spectre and No Time to Die. This updated version of the timeless suede Derby is rendered in fine English calf suede and features a Crockett & Jones ‘City’ rubber sole. Crafted in Crockett & Jones’ factory in Northampton, it uses Last 348, a classic, chiselled form and arguably the most innovative last from a generation of shoemakers, reflecting Crockett & Jones’ rich legacy of craftsmanship.
The second style in the collection is Crockett & Jones’ ode to tradition, a luxurious take on the Albert Slipper. Made from velvet with extravagant quilted linings, the shoe is adorned with the Bond family Coat of Arms, which first appeared in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in 1969. In keeping with the 007 theme, it features the Bond family motto, “Orbis non sufficit,” translating to “the world is not enough”.
