He started as a photojournalist and freelance illustrator in Arizona. Along the way, he got involved in graphic design and developed into an illustrator. Joseph Oland’s work spans many genres and styles, from minimalist black and white photography to documentary, portraiture, and fine art, as well as nature paintings and pop culture-inspired illustrations. He lives in Kansas City with his three-year-old son, who appears to be a budding artist himself.
