Famous faces, timeless icons and reference figures form the basic core on which he creates. His paintings, using the collage technique, are certainly commercial, yet undoubtedly appealing in a distinctive way, mainstream but not in the mass market sense. The talk is of American Jim Hudek, a self-taught artist who has worked in a variety of art forms and has explored all visual media including oil, acrylics, charcoal, airbrush, paper collage and mixed media. As he states, “I was born with a natural ability to paint and draw.” His main occupation now is mainly mixed media and collage on canvas and abstract painting. His work has appeared on magazine covers, as well as on CDs and in corporate collections.
