Combining luxury with braiding, Federico Santa Maria, a veteran yacht designer – in collaboration with Borromeo & De Silva – has created a design-unique canoe that preserves its primordial tradition. The hull is made of a blend of copper-woven carbon fibre and classic teak. Technically strong, durable and lightweight it lacks no ability on the water. The wooden wood surface is handmade by Maestri d’Ascia, one of the oldest and most respected companies of the genre in Genoa. The design provides a place to “hide” the paddles on the side and visually references the fins of a Cadillac. The manufacturers are considering the possibility of fitting a small electric motor in the future as they don’t want to stand on “manual” performance and sharp aesthetics alone.
