Set in a quiet location among the trees and in front of the Vancouver Island coast, the stunning 2,500 sq. ft. Tofino Beach House creates a connection between the salty sea and the wild side of nature. In essence, it is a large open space that on the front is open and flooded with light and on the other side remains enclosed in order to protect it from the dangers of the forest. In this way, the glass walls in the living area offer panoramic views of the forest and ocean, while the two fireplaces at the edges of the house create a sense of shelter.

For the interior, warm and natural tones inspired by the coastal forest of Tofino were chosen. Artwork from the owner’s personal collection was incorporated throughout the space; with the walls above each fireplace specially designed to match the paintings by Sam Francis and Diego Singh. Inside, the design is completed with a collection of bespoke furniture curated by Jim Olson, including a walnut sofa.
