Admittedly, the colourful dials of the watches have always had a particularity and attracted attention. With a look that evokes a more summery mood, TAG Heuer redesigns its vintage creation called Skipper. The original Carrera Skipper ref. 7754 featured a deep blue dial with orange and seafoam-green elements. The colors were inspired by those found on the Intrepid boat that raced in the 1967 America’s Cup when Heuer was the official timekeeper with the crew taking first place. From a functional point of view, it has a 30-minute counter and a date display. The watch has been kept as close to the original as possible and has been enlarged proportionally to keep up with the times. In addition, the central seconds hand, highlights a bright orange hue, just as the original 7754 did. The hands follow the general design form of the early Carreras, but are definitely larger and more modern looking. From a distance, there’s no doubt that it is eye-catching and with a price tag of £5,900, it will attract many TAG Heuer fans.
