Leica has unveiled its new watch, the ZM 1 Gold Limited Edition.

This watch pays homage to the brand’s first golden-edition camera – the IA Luxus, introduced in 1929 – with a mixture of gold and titanium. Specifically, the bi-metal case is made with 18K 4N gold and high-strength Grade 5 Titanium, a material renowned for its durability in the aerospace and automotive industries.

The hands of the ZM 1 Gold reflect the gold color of the case with a galvanized finish. Behind its luxurious facade, the watch is powered by the Leica Caliber LH-100 1 movement, which was assembled by hand in Germany’s Black Forest, where the makers at Lehmann Präzision put the watch through a rigorous five-axis adjustment test.

The design is finished with an alligator leather strap sourced from a certified US farm and naturally tanned in an Italian tannery. The watch fastens on the wrist with a butterfly clasp, made of identical 18K 4N gold.

The Leica ZM 1 Gold Limited Edition will be produced in just 50 pieces and will be available exclusively by private appointment at selected Leica stores. The recommended retail price of the watch will be £24,000.00 including VAT.
