Nero Dolce & Gabbana
[ssba]

Black (nero in Italian), the most powerful non-color, is the symbol of the Dolce & Gabbana fashion house and encompasses contradictory emotions and concepts, such as sensuality and severity, tragedy and love.

The most important fashion photographers who have interpreted the black of Dolce & Gabbana behind their lenses since the 1980s have contributed to this oversized black and white book. These are, among others, Helmut Newton, Inez & Vinoodh, Giuseppe Leone, Enzo Brai, Salvo Alibrio, Sergio Larrain, Bruno Barbey, Ellen von Unwerth, Gian Paolo Barbieri, Fabrizio Ferri and Juergen Teller.

From ad campaigns to iconic editorials, film stars, entertainment & fashion figures – Monica Bellucci and Isabella Rossellini among others – alternate with evocative portraits of ordinary people, many of which we’ve never seen before.
