Poor Things: The Costumes at Benaki Museum

Twelve of the costumes that brought to life the creative vision of Giorgos Lanthimos in his most popular film to date, “Poor Things”, are presented at the Benaki Museum of Hellenic Culture, until September 29, 2024 (Koumpari 1, Athens).

“We would not settle for anything less than the inspired works of the internationally renowned costume designer Holly Waddington,” said the scientific director of the Benaki Museum, Giorgis Magginis, during the press conference, for the first museum presentation of the “Poor Things” costumes, which had already opened at London’s Barbican Center in 2023.

The exhibition gives the audience of the Benaki Museum the opportunity to enjoy twelve of the original handmade costumes of the Oscar-winning and BAFTA award-winning costume designer Holly Waddington for the Giorgos Lanthimos film Poor Things, as worn by Emma Stone (Bella Baxter), Willem Dafoe (Godwin Baxter), Mark Ruffalo (Duncan Wedderburn), Ramy Youssef (Max McCandles), Vicki Pepperdine (Mrs Prim), Kathryn Hunter (Swiney) and Jerrod Carmichael (Harry Astley).
