The Kalmar 7-97 E-Volt takes a different tack from most of the 911 EV conversions on the market. Borrowing the drivetrain from the Tesla Model S, the 7-97 makes 450 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque with a range of up to 180 miles. 0-62 MPH comes in less than four seconds. Where the 7-97 separates itself is in its construction. Kalmar reuses much of the original car while creating new plant fiber panels for the interior and exterior. Besides being more sustainable, it also helps save weight, with the 7-97 coming in just slightly heavier than an original 964. Drag is also reduced. Inside Kalmar added modern air conditioning, audio, and Apple CarPlay, with leather and semi-aniline upholstery.
