The windswept island of Hamneskar on the west coast of Sweden was once a small community built around the Pater Noster lighthouse. Overlooking the open sea view on Sweden’s remote island of Hamneskar, where the famous Pater Noster lighthouse is located, design studio Stylt has transformed the 19th century lighthouse keeper’s house into a hotel; one that combines Swedish nautical charm and wild surroundings. Inside the Swedish hotel, Stylt incorporated original rustic details with vintage nautical details and introduced a richness through warm metallic colours, traditional furniture and dark hues inspired by the surrounding waters. Guests arrive by boat from Marstrand or Gothenburg and are offered back-to-nature activities such as fishing, sailing, kayaking, scuba diving, cooking classes and meditation at the lighthouse itself.
