For the first time in its 231-year history, the Louvre is hosting an exhibition dedicated to fashion. Titled “Louvre Couture: Objets d’Art, Objets de Mode,” the exhibition runs from January 24 to July 21, 2025, and features 45 creations by some of fashion’s most iconic designers — including Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Balenciaga — seamlessly integrated into the museum’s Department of Decorative Arts galleries.

The show explores the deep connection between haute couture and the decorative arts, presenting garments and accessories from the 1960s to the present day alongside tapestries, jewelry, and porcelain artifacts. The result is a fresh, intimate take on the relationship between fashion and art, offering visitors a new lens through which to view both.

On March 5, 2025, the Louvre held Le Grand Dîner du Louvre,” a glamorous event that brought together major figures from the worlds of art and fashion. Organized during Paris Fashion Week, the evening featured a private tour of the exhibition, a dinner curated by acclaimed chef Anne-Sophie Pic, and a live performance by musician Doechii. The event raised over one million euros in support of the museum.

“Louvre Couture” is more than just a celebration of design — it’s a cultural moment. It invites visitors to explore the dialogue between fashion and history, elegance and craftsmanship, past and present. It’s where style becomes timeless.
