Ernest Hemingway didn’t have to deal with the distractions of writing on a modern PC or tablet. But if he did, he’d likely appreciate a distraction-free writing tool like Freewrite’s Ernest Hemingway Signature Edition Typewriter. Otherwise known as the Hemingwrite, it’s an officially licensed collaboration with the Ernest Hemingway estate, with a raw aluminum finish that will develop a unique patina over time and green keycaps. Each device is polished by hand and individually finished, carries Papa’s laser-engraved signature below the keys, and arrives with a custom-fitted attaché case made from cognac genuine leather with a cream-colored velvet lining and a deep interior pocket. It’s otherwise similar to other Freewrite models, with an E Ink screen, a smaller status screen below it, a full-size keyboard, on-board storage, WiFi for backing up to the cloud, and a USB-C-charging internal battery that lasts for up to four weeks.
