New life of a classic

As is now probably abundantly clear, our penchant for workshops that focus on Land Rover Defender restorations is pretty huge and we’ve just discovered another in the shape of Manz Motor Company who have warranted a place at the top table courtesy of the calibre of their rebuilds – a prime example of which is this, quite frankly awesome, Land Rover Defender 110 5-Door.

Fuelled by an intense passion for off-road vehicles and a mutual dedication to creating them, David and Cole Manz, a father and son team, have turned their beloved family hobby into a flourishing business. Operating out of their repurposed barn in New Hampshire, the Manz Motor Company revitalises Land Rover Defenders, transforming vehicles that were once solely for their personal use into expertly restored machines for an exclusive customer base throughout the country. A shining example of their restoration prowess lies in this exceptional 110 5-Door build.

Manz Motor Company offers three distinct models to their clients: the Defender 90, 110, and 130, named after their approximate wheelbase measurements in inches. All their builds are available with new gas (LS3, LC9), diesel (Cummins 2.8L), and electric (coming soon) engines; or a fully rebuilt original diesel engine (300TDI). All of these engines can be combined with manual or automatic transmissions (electric to be automatic only).
