Saint Laurent secret menswear show

YSL creative director Anthony Vaccarello presented Saint Laurent’s menswear show at the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection in Paris on Tuesday night, with a collection infused with ’80s sensuality.

Whispers of a secret Saint Laurent fashion show turned out to be true on Tuesday afternoon (March 5), as Anthony Vaccarello almost secretly presented his latest menswear collection in the Tadao Ando-designed rotunda, closing out Paris Fashion Week A / W 2024.

A select few joined a carefully selected group of attendees who watched the show, where models emerged from openings in the rotunda, and, following the circular runway, the silhouette of the clothes appeared textured, with stitching on wide shoulders, trench coats and ties in various colors reminiscent of 1980s Wall Street office wear.

The relaxed cut of the tailoring was reminiscent of Giorgio Armani’s collections of that decade, which represented a newly liberated mood in menswear (we all remember Armani’s suits for Richard Gere in American Gigolo).
