Deux hommes dans la ville

Some French films have become timeless and still retain their special aura today. The detective stories starring Alain Delon are among them. Deux hommes dans la ville, directed by José Giovanni, is a French-Italian drama film from 1973, in which Delon is accompanied by the iconic Jean Gabin. The plot unfolds when an ex-convict for bank robbery – played by Delon – is released from prison two years early from the 12 years he was sentenced and tries to make a new start with the help of a social worker he met in prison – played by Gabin. He gets a job in a printing shop and has an affair with a bank clerk with whom he starts living with. But along the way, a series of events will lead the course of his life in the opposite direction from the one he had intended and planned.
