The ancient Roman passion for wine

Dating from 1338, Torre de Palma Wine Hotel celebrates the ancient Roman passion for wine, olive oil, horses, and spas.

The interiors feature a charming mix of elegant furniture and quirky knickknacks. The lounge and Basilii restaurant are located in the old house and pay homage to the prominent family that once lived on the estate. Genteel Alentejo country living is brought to the fore through the mix of handpicked vintage furniture and wood textures against whitewashed walls. Well-chosen textiles and pieces of art give the rooms a sense of home.

Erected from the remains of a house dating from 1338, the hotel maintains architectural allegiance to the region. The new structures have been framed in the image of the existing architecture with concrete shells, masonry walls, and concrete slab roofs; yet they maintain a contemporary language.

Savor fresh and aromatic Alentejo flavors with locally produced artisanal wines in the shadow of Roman ruins. Torre de Palma’s hallmark is its boutique winery, which symbolizes the estate’s wine culture. The Torre de Palma winery is open for tours and tastings, as well as wine and food events.

Using techniques and elements close to the terroir, the hotel’s spa therapists induce a sublime sense of wellness and rejuvenation through an array of salubrious treatments that include vinotherapy, massage, exfoliation, and aromatherapy. Guests can also indulge in an indoor and outdoor pool, a Jacuzzi, and a Turkish bath.

The Alentejo is without a doubt an astounding destination, offering culture, cuisine, wonderful wines, beautiful views, and many unique experiences.
