The author, journalist and creator of TV documentary shows on art and culture, George Archimandritis, brings back to us classic works that have marked the history of the human spirit with their narrative world, language and aesthetics, in the new cycle of the literary show “The Book Club”, so loved by the public. From Sophocles to Chekhov, Dickens and Kafka, the recommended books constitute a reading guide for everyone, an “ideal library” of masterpieces that travel through time and continue to fascinate and enthrall us.
He says: “The literary works we present in the ‘Book Club’ are works that have marked the history of humanity. The book concerns us all. It is our mental and spiritual compass. And of course it is a great pleasure. A pleasure offered by Greek public television as an expression of its entertainment and educational mission. Because, beyond the unique aesthetic experience that literature gives us, it helps us to sharpen our minds, to decode the world around us and to grasp its complexity.”
The show opens on May 6 and will be broadcast every Saturday & Sunday at 8.55 pm on ERT2 .
