100 years ago, Ettore Bugatti debuted what would become the archetypal race car — the Bugatti Type 35. Among the Type 35’s innovations were alloy wheels, a hollow front axle, and springs that passed through the front axle, reducing weight, improving performance, and helping the Type 35 to 2,500 victories over a decade. Marking the 100th anniversary of the legend, Bugatti has created six Baby II Type 35 Centenary Editions, each with a livery that recalls the six race cars that made such an impact on the racing world. Starting with the Pur Sang Bugatti Baby II, each example features hand-painted details, like a unique chassis number matching one of the six originals and entry numbers on the hood and boat tail. The six hand-built Centenary Edition Type 35s have all been sold to collectors.
