Growing up with the quiet pictures of Maastricht, photographer Felix Baumsteiger travels to distant Canada and depicts the numerous Toronto and the famous Niagara Falls in a special way far from the usual tourist.
Baumsteiger is not influenced by the richness and glamorous nightlife of the first-class destinations he visits and creates gray clicks that reveal the essential and unimaginable.
Choosing the simplicity to the abstraction shows Canada empty, empty of people and cars centered on “Space Motel”, which also names the particular photo collection.
A return to the simplicity and dynamics of black and white of both life and photography.
